Advanced Class to the Salon Class

Procedures for Changing Classifications

Process for promoting members from the Advanced Class to the Salon Class

Advanced Class members shall be considered for advancement to the Salon Class at the conclusion of each season. The overall goal is to provide competitive balance in all classes and create a learning environment inspired by participation in Club activities. Advanced members shall be considered for Salon Class membership based on their photographic achievements.

The evaluation process shall follow the following guidelines:

  1. The LCC president shall select a panel of four Salon members at the end of each competition year (The Review Panel).  The Panel will review the competition results of the past year to see if any members should be considered for upgrade to the Salon Class.  The Review Panel acts through the vote of at least a majority of its members.
  2. Advanced Class members shall be selected for consideration based upon their competition achievements. The qualification shall be based upon the total number of 8 and/or 9 scores in regular club competitions during the past season. The panel shall determine the required threshold annually.
  3. The candidate shall be invited to join the Salon Class and the candidate shall have the option to accept the invitation or continue in the Advanced Class.

In the event that the Review Panel is split on a particular candidate the LCC president shall be the tiebreaker as needed.
