General Instructions

Navigate to the content pages through the menu at top or via the Site Map page, found under the Welcome menu item. Most pages are available to the general public, but a few pages require login. You can find the login page under the Welcome menu item.

Welcome

Under the Welcome menu item are subitems which allow you to login, logout and deal with forgotten passwords. There is a page which explains in detail the many benefits of Club membership. Another page allows you to send your contact information to the Club to start the membership process. Our privacy policy and site map can be reached through menu items below Welcome. Finally, you reached this page from a link under Welcome.

Calendar

The calendar page lists all the dates of club meetings, including competitions.

Competitions

This area contains all of the various features related to Club competitions. The Competitions page lists all of the planned competitions, both open and theme for the season. There are buttons at the bottom of the page which take you to the image upload site and result page.

The Competition & Scoring page, along with its subpages, provides all of the rules and specifications for the competitions including the guidelines for judges to provide feedback and scoring of submitted images.

Competition Class Advancement provides the framework by which members can move up to higher competition groups as their skill and experience progresses.

Results & Archive allows member to see the results of recent and older competitions. You can browse the winning images as well as seeing the tabular results.

Info

The info page allows downloads of forms, labels and documents. There is a subpage which collects educational material. Some has been produced by Club members, others are interesting external links and documents.

Another subpage lists Club officers and others with Club roles and a subsubpage describes the roles themselves. Another subpage describes the NJFCC, the statewide umbrella organization under which this Club is organized. A subsubpage has NJFCC links.

Another page lists local sites that are excellent for photography and finally there is an FAQ page with additional information about the Club.

Contact Us

A contact form may be found on this page which can be used by non-members for queries. There is a subpage which provides driving instructions to the Livingston Senior Center where the club meets along with a local street map.

Member’s Area

This area allows signed in members to view the profiles of fellow members. Current dues information is available. Galleries of images from deceased members can be viewed. Galleries of current members are optionally available as well. Finally, a video conference room for signed in members is available for video chats.

Blog

The blog area highlights an essay from a member of the Club. You can see prior contributions by navigating through the page numbers below the essay. Members can comment on the essays. Comments are shown below the essay and there is a dialog at the bottom of the page for signed in members to add their own comments.

Activity

This page shows the timeline of all of the actions taken by members on the web site related to registration, postings to the forum, etc. In some cases, you can add your comments to items.

Groups

Groups are lists of members with common interests. This allows groups of members to have their own forums and messaging. Groups may be public, such as All Members. They may be private, such as Club Officers. Groups can also have their own conference room to do video chats. Members can join or leave groups, as they wish, except the private groups which require an Administrator to add them.

Please explore the menu items to the left and the tabs above to see many of the available functions in this page. Also, note that groups may be added and deleted depending on demand and usage. Several example groups have been posted, but these may change over time.

Forums

The forum area provides message board capabilities to this site. It can be used for announcements, ads for stuff for sale, upcoming field trips and images can be posted for others to critique and provide feedback. This area has extensive functionality and further instructions are provided on its page.

My Profile

Use this page to complete and update your profile. You are encouraged to upload a headshot of yourself which will show up with your Forum posts and on the Members page. Optionally, you can upload a cover photo. If you choose to do so, make sure it’s wide and short in height.

The gear icon is what you click on to edit your profile or account. If you do so, make sure you click on the “Update Profile” button to save your changes. The pencil icon lets you see your posts. The speech bubble icon lets you see your comments. As of now, comments may be left on the Blog page. The double speech bubble icon lets you see your Forum activity.

My Account

This page allows you to change your name (but not your username), your email address and password. Click on the asterisk to change your password. Click on the padlock to make your information private. Click on the trash can to delete your account. Be sure to click on the “Update Account” button for save your changes.
