Who we are

We are the Livingston Camera Club. Our website address is: https://lcc-nj.org. This web site is for the use of our members and others who are interested in the Club and the images our members produce.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Forum Postings

When members leave postings on the site we collect the data shown in the form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Media

Images that you upload to the site, either directly or through the competition portal, may be displayed on our web site. We keep images that have won the competitions indefinitely for display. While we do not allow download of images, this cannot be prevented entirely. We recommend you include a copyright notice in the metadata of your image, if possible. When the images are displayed, your name will be visible associated with the image and names are also included in the lists of contest winners which are also downloadable.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can try to download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you use the “Contact Us” form, the information you include will be stored on the web site and will be emailed to club officers.

Cookies

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. We may set other cookies to enable other web site functionality.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

Your competition image files and their associated data are managed through the PhotoContestPro.com web site, which may retain the images indefinitely. Other than that we do not share your data with anyone. We use it only for club business. Your profile information is only visible to signed in members.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Other logged in users can see your information as well, though you can control which fields are visible to other members.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Member comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We may use third party services for email transmission.

Your contact information

The contact information you post to the web site is stored and made visible to other members who are logged in unless you make your profile private. Administrators can still see that information.
